Java? smells like coffee to me
i referred to a friend's past code and prayed that whatever i hammered out would work out in the end. i tried to create a smokescreen of knowledge, when i was basically a wall of bluffs. ok, so the coding worked. then came the question and answer. i felt like a person who was naked in a changing room with drawn curtains, just hoping and praying that no one tries to expose me.
the tutor asked the first question and i felt the curtains fall, causing a draft that made my balls shrink. there i was, naked of knowledge, desperately trying to cling on to whatever fabric of wisdom i learnt before.
it didn't help that the guy next to me was a Java whizz, but he had BO (yes body odour, not some techno mumbo jumbo) so that's that. yes, i can be bitchy.
all the while, Java was coffee to me, a fishing spot to alvin and a second language to gary. but gary's a computer engineer, i'm an electrical engineer. enough gripes, i just hope i pass.

Diet Sprite?
yes kids, it is sprite zero. another innovative product from the coca cola company. isn't it amazing how soft drinks can be void of fat and carbohydrate and yet have an energy value? if only tuh kar (pig trotters) can be so amazing. or why not have hokkien mee and char kway teow without the calories? i'm sure if chai tow kway was a carbonated drink flavour, it'd have zero calories. hell, it may even be good for you. i leave you with a quote from alvin:
Fast and Furious : Tokyo Drift
- the tokyo student body are hip and happening, with races going on every night in carparks.
- japanese chicks are hot, have ample assets (well if they don't their bodies are great anyway), own neat rides.
- when not racing, there's always a dj spinning some hot shit in the carpark where the forementioned japanese babes are dancing in skimpy outfits, in every guys favourite combination of highs and lows. low top + high skirt + gyrating hips = i love tokyo!
- the japanese education system seem to have Drifting 101 in their curriculum, hence resulting in any japanese school student knowing how to drift.
- they probably have student subsidies on neat rides and tires and have nocturnal ECA's such as "Drifting in Mountain Passes". i heard it's good for 5 AUs. if you don't end up in the ravine.
- all races, whether within a carpark or up in the mountain passes, can be caught with live streaming in high resolution on your handphone.
- drifting circles around and burning rubber in the shape of 'O's around a japanese babe's ride will most certainly get you her number.
don't you guys just love tokyo? catch my drift so far?(hur)
Disclaimer: anyone who quits school and goes to tokyo based on this rant and ends up utterly disappointed, it is not my fault. all i have to say is wish it were real? so do i. sayonara.

'twas a good night
ah yes, such a lovely night. festivities are on. everyone's celebrating union day(yeah right)
here we have another shot of cozy corner, except yehyang decided not to get so high (hur). alvin would bitch he's not in the picture but he was a blurred figure in the first picture already so, too bad *queue evil laughter*
ok this might look bad but let me make a few things clear:
- we didn't finish four bottles of drinks...the carlsberg was from another day.
- the cigarette buds in the container were not done in one night.
- two of the three packs of cigarettes are empty BUT we didn't start out with 3 full packs anyway.
- no wine bottles, beer bottles, ice buckets, wine glasses, lighters, coasters, blue table cloth, ash trays, heineken coasters, cigarette packs and cigarettes were harmed in the making of this movie. ok, photo shot. bite me.

Personal Galaxy? Yes please!
okay...it's not on my ceiling. but i wish it were. i bought something like that about a year back from toys 'r' us at jp. it was quite a disappointment. but then again, at the price of SGD50 versus this baby at USD230, i think i won't be as disappointed with this as compared to giraffe boy's cheapo product. oh well, i still love walking around in toy 'r' us anyway.
Presenting John Petrucci
hope you enjoyed Petrucci, the guitarist of one of my favourite progressive rock bands, Dreamtheater. heh...who thought his slow version was slow?

isn't that one of the coolest things you have ever seen? how i wish i could build one of these. however i just look at the plans and sob like a baby, so much for being a EEE student *hangs head in shame*. check this linky for more DIYed Nixies. great stuff from Mike's Electric Stuff.
also, as gary, yehyang and probably tens of thousands of netizens can attest, you can really find anything on youtube.com.

Beautiful things in life
i am a sucker for pretty skies...even if the bloody huge balloon is kinda distracting. such a lovely sight, just like my sony ericsson k800i, which was used to take this lovely picture.
this was taken while the sun was going down on the NDP of 2006. venue was the national stadium, not the very well tended patch of grass. it would've been my third time going, the first time was in 2004.
i thank my beautiful, beloved other half for the opportunities to see the pretty sights the past three years, all the beautiful fireworks, the million and one red and white balloons. oh well, live for the here and now. Let my great grandson worry about the global warming from the burning chemicals and the fishes dying from choking on deflated red and white rubber balloons, i'll be long gone.
