beautiful rainy day...but still, shit happens

the lazy rainy season has finally started. sleep is getting more shiok nowadays. started my day as usual, woke up, hit the books, they hit me back. studied till afternoon. temperatures started rising, decided to go into the reading room to study.

first choice of study position had a pair of guys discussing stuff, interrupted the alignment of my chakras. moved all the way to the other side, where this couple of foreigners (as in 1 male foreigner+1 female foreigner, if not i would've used 'these'), were making out. not that i minded or delibrately took notice. i was just focussing on my material when i noticed that there were tapping sounds. at first i thought the guy was tapping a pen. need chakra realignment. after awhile, i realised that he was tapping on a laptop. and somehow knowing that it was a laptop helped me tolerate it. the tapping sounds soon become one with me...

then, the tapping stopped. my chakras got upset. i turned to see what made him stop tapping. and there it was, the foreplay. well, i made full use of the silence to really concentrate while i could. and from then on it was intermittent tapping followed by periods of silence. if i didn't have to study i'd cheer them on to 3rd and 4th base.

went back to room, found out that my keys had been locked in coz i usually don't lock my door. went to draw spare key to open my door only to find out i had been fined for leaving lights and fan on AND this abomination.

something tells me that hospital green isn't very clever. somebody please bleach my retinas.

queue luck

are you familiar with the term queue luck? is a branch of luck that stems from the main branch luck. it is popular along with other branches like taxi luck.

today i felt like having a vanillia ice cream from mac's, a small dessert just to top dinner off. i chose the shortest queue, which consisted of a single man, with presumably an order that would befit one person. however, as it turns out, a mother with three kids had their order processed faster. and it wasn't the fault of the staff.

this guy decided to try some stunt with a coupon whipped out and it seemed like he was ordering and cancelling alot of things one at the time. even the guy behind the counter was just standing there waiting for that indecisive kuku to make his mind up. and a lovely conclusion to the incident? he paid with a fifty dollar bill. argh...ice cream don't come easy nowadays.

Uncle? WTF?!?!?!?!

today kena called 'uncle' at Suntec while looking at property investments in UK. fucking sad. if you've read Jac's blog on writing stories in six words, here's mine:

"kena call uncle, so fucking sad..."
or
"kena call uncle, look like meh?"
or
"uncle your si lang tao ah!"

mabbe it's time for botox.

songs...the rhythm to life

was listening to this yesterday on my journey home. i've heard it many many times. but somehow, sometimes, no matter how many times i've heard a song, there will be moments where it will just strike a chord in my heart. lyrics would be cheesy to some, but i think it's sweet nevertheless.

I can only give you love that lasts forever,
And a promise to be near each time you call.
And the only heart I own
For you and you alone
That's all,
That's all

I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall;
And a love whose burning light
Will warm the winter night
That's all,
That's all.

There are those I am sure who have told you,
They would give you the world for a toy.
All I have are these arms to enfold you,
And a love time can never destroy.

If you're wondering what I'm asking in return, dear,
You'll be glad to know that my demands are small.
Say it's me that you'll adore,
For now and evermore
That's all,
That's all.

That's All, Michael Buble
love you lots, babe

new keyboard! yay!

i bought a new keyboard to replace my cheapo logitech one. i have learnt that not everything that bears a branded name is a good product, even for something as simple as a keyboard. the problem with the cheap logitech one was that the keys were quite stiff overall, causing a little tenderness even to my fantastic flying fingers of fanatic fury. the colour code is silver and black compared to black.

it comes with a few shortcut keys to access programs like my web and mail browser and most importantly, volume control. i don't mind clicking for some things but volume control is a bitch coz it's a drag and drop function and the volume bar is too short, requires too much concentration. also, the ever handy mute button in case of sudden incoming phonecalls. then again, aren't all phonecalls sudden in nature?

the top left side of the keyboard has inputs for headphones and a microphone(teamspeak anyone?). a pair of headphones with an attached mic was supplied together with the keyboard. after all, this keyboard is heralded the X-Slim Headset keyboard, by A4tech.

the top right side has a USB 2.0 port! how handy! no need to bend down to plug external devices anymore! hurray for lazy people!

true to it's name, the keyboard is indeed very slim. look at its profile compared to my mouse. the only gripe though, is that they don't have elevation clips to slant the keyboard abit more. the keys are however, much softer than el cheapo logitech. my fingers are now free from tragedy.

sis trying to be funny

i was utterly full on sunday night due to pigging out on friday, saturday and sunday. i then decided to come back to school on monday morning instead of the usual sunday night. took a cab back, tried to find my earphones for my phone to listen to my mp3's when i found this gem my sister planted for me. it was in my pencil case, where i left my earphones.

the back story behind this gem, i've told to a few people before. it's about those insurance agents who con your attention by making you choose from different items, in this case, straws of many colours, those bubble tea kind. i was relating to my sis the countless times those goondus stop me and make me choose a straw, saying i would win a prize depending on the colour. then about how they'd ask me questions and waste my time and in the end i don't receive anything. i told her specifically that after falling for it a few times and getting jaded, my favourite part of their whole routine is when they say "Oh, you've picked the [insert colour] straw". and it just kills me inside coz i know i ain't getting squat at the end of the day.
