baby's birthday high tea

had high tea at equinox. lovely view. food was quite ok. loved the ambience, there's something about stuffing your face 70 floors above the ground with your own personal pot of earl grey and an international buffet spread.

i made it a personal mission to try and sample one piece of everything. it was not easy. i failed.

the pizza photo below is important. it showed me what spot metering can do compared to normal metering. doesn't the colour and exposure make the pizza look more scrumptious?

didn't take the sushi coz baby said it was nothing special. Moved on to dessert!

as stated above...mission failed. really too many things to cover already. and we sat there from start to end, 3pm to 5pm. i had no time nor space to cover the ice cream, assorted brownies and scones. this kinda thing need special training. i forsee i will try again someday in the future.

We then proceeded to walk around the area where we saw some cute TVs at the newly opened electronics area at suntec.

at the end of the day, was too full to eat any dinner even though we were suppose to meet dickson for dinner coz his birthday is one day earlier than babe's, so paiseh. so sorry bro! in fact we were so full that there was a maximum speed limit to our walking, any faster i think we'd puke.

after that, watched some local thingie by sebastian tan in the recital studio of esplanade. rather entertaining.

anyways,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE AND BRO!

love=hate

do we always end up hating the things we love? not in a relationship context but just the things we do. if we could live life by our dreams and gifts, i think i'd be doing something musically related. yet i know, that if were to be in MEP last time, i would've hated it to the core.

i used to love science, math and physics. but now all this crap leaves nothing but a bad taste in my mouth. can passions be taken too far that they become a drudgery? i sit here pondering wtf i'm studying. it doesn't even really make sense to me

none of it does. i'm not happy doing this. the only things that keep me going are my other joys in life, mainly family, friends and loved ones. have you ever wondered what's the purpose of your life?

i'm still trying to find that answer, cause almost everything other than my personal life seems meaningless right now. going to be 25 and yet no meaning...wtf.

yes, the world holds many beautiful things, but in the end, if we stop and smell the roses, that often means that we're falling behind one way or another. and yet, if one has no money but sees beauty in everything, can he be truly happy?

how are you going to affect the world today?...makes me pensive...and a tad distraught.

botak jones burger with three patties

the burger served as breakfast, lunch and dinner. one patty for each meal. overall verdict: not particularly tasty, quite filling but honestly i thought it'd be bigger. had it been tastier, i am certain that i would finish it without problems. after all, there's only so much bland meat one can take.

God bless america...

they sure as hell seem like they need it. at least from this video. thanks once again Alvin for this interesting link.

Just a note, some people think that this video could be the product of good editing. but i'll leave you to decide.

goodbye old friend...

even though i have known you for only half a year, you have been great, always being open when i need you.you gave me space when i needed it, and helped to keep my room tidy. whenever i told you to give me more space, you always could. what more could i ask?how much thanks can i give?
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
even though it was only half a year, but i felt you had known me for ages, so much so that when i look around i can still find traces of you in my life that sparks off memories of your marvelous capacity to give.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
the walls speak your name...
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
i'm sure i'll move along and find new things. but i'm pretty sure life won't be half as great as when you were there for me.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
thrown into a new space, things always seem to start ok in the beginning, everything always seems to fit...
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
but things almost never stay the same...the field isn't always level, the ground isn't always even and to top it all, things just slowly drift from how they were in the beginning.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
what i'm trying to say is that nothing can replace you and what you had to offer. now all i see is emptiness. and all i can do is retreat back into my tiny new world...

Alas, goodbye, my old cupboard...

hell has begun

hrm has entered my life. welcome to hell. been to one lecture and it feels like shit already. in other news, bee choo wants me to write a letter as to why i took my curtains down to use my blinds. i'm not as patient as yehyang to type down an excerpt of the conversation but it sorta goes like this:

"why you take down your curtains? you want to take down must write a letter you know?"

"why must i write a letter? anything at all i just hang them back up? i took down the curtains coz they collect dust more easily and my nose is sensitive to dust."

"like that har...but why you want to take down your curtains? must write letter you know?"

take that whole conversation and repeat it at least five times. bloody hell. i will email them the next time i feed my fish. or shave my balls.

still unsettled...

it's the 2nd going on 3rd week of school and things are still unsettled. oh eh ass seems to want to stick to their new online appeal system which seems to do nothing but to taichi the students' problems back to their respective school offices. if not, they don't reply or do anything at all. the front page, i guess acting as a disclaimer, said three working days. and it's been 5 and counting.

perhaps, the amount of work they do in 5 days is less than 3 working days, that's why they haven't replied yet. you piece of shit system, i hope you burn.

new tech stuff around the house, rain, smelly feet

obtained a d link dgl-4300 over the weekend. seems to be working pretty fine. my bro can cs with minimal latency while i bt and surf the net. seems like their award winning qos is actually some good. love the look of it too, nice and sleek design, black casing with blue leds, looks so cool it hurts.

it came bundled with this!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
it's a logitech g1 gaming mouse which uses the award-winning mx510 engine. i can now use my cool black icemat again, oh how i've missed it. for the benefit of female readers, the icemat is a piece of frosted glass i use as a mousepad as you can see from the picture above. retiring my razer diamondback as i think it is just nice to look at and most importantly, it can't track on my icemat.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
it's no g5 but damn it's nice to be back using logitech after awhile. the picture below is what i caught on the way back to hall from class (yes, i'm a changed man). taken from s2 roof. and i was just thinking that it was a nice day to swim while in lecture. even as i type this, it tempts me by not raining, it's almost as if it's waiting for me to walk to src and change into my speedos before releasing the torrents.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
speaking of rain, water and lecture, i was rudely awakened from my zombie state by the smell of wet feet soaked into the carpet of the lecture theater. the stench assaulted my senses so brutally that in an instant i was awake and the first thought to hit me was 'oh fark, i got double lecture here...cb...'

after awhile, i began to believe that the nose could get used to a smell and recalibrate itself because after 15 minutes, the evil odour seemed to have leveled off. nose was calibrated, settings changed from toe jam to normal. the error was corrected.

after the first lecture, i was already kinda sleepy. went for a bathroom break. went back to the same lecture theater. loss of calibration.
the stench assaulted my senses so brut.....blah blah you get the picture. i wonder if they have student subsidies on oxygen masks and tanks.

it's EEE week by the way and they have a mini bazaar on as usual. something caught my eye totally by accident. all i shall say is that girls, if you want to sell accessories or whatever thingies that require you to provide mirrors, as your customers might want to try stuff on and preen, please do not wear a short denim skirt which lifts when you bend forward while having a chair behind you with a mirror on it. reflective surface up. get the picture?

enough for an afternoon...nap time~

london bridge is falling down

my fair lady! didn't enjoy it as much as forbidden city and/or notre dame de paris but it was entertaining nonetheless. started at 8 ended 11.15, minus the interval so it was about three hours, not too bad. maybe coz the accent was too heavy sometimes hence didn't manage to catch all the jokes.

updates while the network allows

met up with the acap people for a chillout at The Loof last saturday. free flow champagne thanks to tianyun's kangtao. there was a guest bartender too that mixed up free cocktails. sadly no pictures taken. must've slipped my mind after the white chocolate martini. after that we proceeded to esplanade to catch some acapella action.

regrets: not taking pictures of the yong tau fu cocktail, the white chocolate martini and the strawberry thingie. and also the large cock. and the air-conditioned inside area with the mattresses.

updates while the network allows

went to donut factory with my baby last sunday. we waited a full hour for donuts! located at the basement of raffles city. she arrived earlier and i didn't know where the shop was. but i actually used my nose to find the place. they were good but not really worth the one hour waiting time in my opinion.

they make the donuts in batches and they do not shortchange on quality, hence the ass of a waiting time, especially when you're trying to fill a box of 12 different flavours. even then one box ain't enough, there are 15 flavours.

if...

if the network speed was akin to how fast i could pee, i would be suffering from a ruptured bladder.

sheer nonsense

what kind of screwed up network can't handle information requests from blogger and flickr and god knows what else. stupid piece of shit. it is absurd that in order to load a page i have to type the address, wait for it to have a 'cannot display webpage error' then refresh the page in order for it to load successfully. utterly unacceptable.

~update~ blogger is intermittent but imageshack and flickr still getting timed out. grr.

outing with army mates

had dinner at crystal jade kitchen in taka. proceeded to cuppage for a bit of pool. then ended up in a circle of indecisiveness.

in the end most of them went home, hence i didn't bother to focus on them. hur. in the end it was me, alvin and our special friend again. the one in brown. we ended up at clarke quay for mojitos at kandi bar, which is supposed a good silent killer for bluffing freshmen xiao mei mei's. apparently kandi's mojitos suck.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
we then proceeded to cafe iguana for magaritas, was my virgin visit.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.us
we shared an ultimate margarita but didn't finish it coz it didn't taste too good.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
free chips and salsa dip with the first serving! slurp! and the chips were warm!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
next up was a macho mango margarita which tasted pretty harmless and rather palatable. 10 minutes later, warmth was setting in. another drink to bluff xiao mei mei.

that ended the night pretty much. up next, the window of a money changer in liang court, next to the atms.
